If you subsribe to me, it means you want to see my entries - and you'll be able to see anything I've made public.

If you give me access, I'll be able to see all of your f'locked entries.


So, basically...

no access, no subcription: "Eh. Who is this person again?"
no access, subscription: "Ooh. This person looks interesting. They might be a creepy serial killer, though - so I don't want them to see my personal stuff."
access, no subscription: "This person is nice and trustworthy! But their posts are weird... ugh, don't want that on my daily reading."
access, subscription: "YAY! Best buds! Woo!"

There's this thing you can get to from the homepage: "latest things". It gives you access to recent public posts, all across DW. I noticed how MANY of those posts are currently newbies leaving LJ, and decided to be helpful...
